The indisputable truth is that the world would not be the same without books. Books have been educating and inspiring us for thousands of years.
Books are more than simple pieces of paper with words on them. They’re a door into another world, whether that’s one full of fiction and imagination or a factual world that teaches you incredible new things.
World Book Day is all about celebrating the wonderful power of books and the joy of reading. It’s especially meant to help encourage a love of reading in children, but people of all ages can recognize and celebrate the day.
World Book Day has a strong connection with schools, and it’s used worldwide to allow school children to engage with reading their favorite books.
It’s not just a day to indulge a love of books, but also a day where children and young people can gain access to books.
World Book Day changes lives through a love of books and shared reading.
The mission is to promote reading for pleasure, offering every child and young person the opportunity to have a book of their own.
Reading for pleasure is the single biggest indicator of a child’s future success .
Spending few minutes a day reading and sharing stories with children can make a crucial difference to their future success. It’s also fun for all involved.

Our History

Lord’s Schools is a co-educational private Christian institution, comprising preschool, junior and senior schools for children. The Nursery and Primary school started precisely on 21st of April 1997, by divine inspiration.

On 16th of March, 1999 provisional approval to open a Nursery School was granted to the school by the then Commissioner of Education, Oyo State, through a letter signed by Mr. Fola Badmus with Ref. No Dr2/1976/35.

Since the early history of the school, the school has been competition friendly. The school participated in an Essay competition organised by the state Ministry of Youth and Women Affairs. The theme of the essay was Indiscipline among children in Schools: Causes, Effects and Solutions. The school was represented by Master Abiodun Daniel a primary five pupil.
